The Lineup

Join Social Wellness Club for a trail run around the infamous Box Hill in Surrey. We'll be getting a group together and setting off from London to explore some of Surrey's best trails, providing a great opportunity to train for any upcoming races with elevation.

📍 Meeting point: 9:15am @ Outside Clapham Junction Station (St John's Hill entrance)

Plan 

We'll be getting a group together and meeting just outside the station before setting off to get the train together, (roughly a 40 min journey). 

Once arrived we'll set off on a short walk (0.5 miles) to Box Hill where we'll start our 15 mile loop. The run will take roughly 3 hrs with time allowed to refuel and eat, we recommend you bring enough water, food and gels to allow for this time. There is a cafe at the end where we can grab some lunch before heading back.

We'll maintain a steady pace 6-6:30 min / km and walk the hills as there's quite a lot of elevation across the course. We'll also discuss some tips related to descending, running on technical trails and climbing hills.

Headphones are optional if people enjoy running with them although it's a great opportunity for a social and this can be missed with music. 

Recommended gear:

  • Running vest with capacity to carry 1L of water
  • Enough food for a 3 hour run/walk (gels are great, also electrolyte carb drinks, flapjacks etc)
  • Sun screen
  • Trail shoes (road shoes will likely be fine)
  • Poles if you plan to use them on your race day
  • Money for the cafe and lunch after the run finishes
